Surf Dads

2023 - 2024

Surf Dads is an ongoing series of high key black and white portraits taken in California between October 2023 and March 2024 of surfers who recently brought new additions into their families, most of them for the first time. All portraits were taken inside the Surf Dads’ homes with a mobile studio consisting of two Profoto B2 flashes (one with 2’ Octabox + grid, and one blowing out the white backdrop), and one black V-flat on either side of the subject. Shot with Sony A7R5 + Sigma Art 85mm.
